Do you need a redesign, or just better copy and structure?

Before you pay for a new small business website, check whether the design is the problem at all. Often the layout is fine and the words are doing the damage.

When enquiries dry up, the instinct is to rebuild. Sometimes that is right. Just as often the site looks perfectly decent and the problem sits in the words, the order of the page, or the fact that nobody can find the thing they came for.

Signs you only need copy and structure work

  • People land on the site, then leave from the same page they arrived on.
  • You get enquiries, but for the wrong kind of job.
  • Visitors call to ask something the site already answers, buried three scrolls down.
  • The design still feels like you, it just says too little.

Signs a rebuild is the honest answer

  • It is awkward or broken on a phone.
  • Pages take several seconds to appear.
  • Nobody can edit it, or the platform it was built on is no longer supported.
  • The business has changed and the site describes work you no longer do.

How we decide

Every small business website design enquiry starts the same way: we look at what your site is actually asked to do, read it as a stranger would, and check the basics: speed, mobile, and whether the first screen answers the question a visitor arrived with. If the bones are good, we say so, and we fix the words and the order instead of selling you a rebuild.

That is a cheaper conversation than a redesign, and it is the one that usually moves the numbers first. When a rebuild is the right call, here is what our small business website design includes and what it costs.
